Job1:1
There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed (shunned) evil.
Job suffered verbal persecution (Job.2:9 /Job.19:22), emotional persecution (lose of family members....), Spiritual persecution (Satan went forth to try Job's spirit), physical persecution (Job was struck with skin boils). Yet Job knew that God was just and shall deliever him (Job.19:26 in context /proper translation/- out of my flesh I shall see God Heb.9:27 1 Cor.15:50 .... Not once did Job curse or rebel against God.
Few people strive to feed their spirits these days. Many lack what it takes to stand against persecution (Eph.6:10-20/ Armour of God). Persecution against Christians and spiritual truths are on the rise. Yet we are told it will get even worse. When we look back through the Word the see much persecution (emity) against God's people. Joseph, Jeremiah, Daniel, (the prophets), Job, Christ, the Apostels....... The conflict has been on and the enemy will seeks to take a major stand in the later days.
Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
vs.10-13 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me. Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. (The fear of the LORD is the beginning)
Matt.13:3-23 the parable speaks of how different people will deal with tribulation. Sadly many like to teach that the church will escape tribulation.

* Jn.15:18-20 (King James Version)
If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
Jer.20:11
But the LORD is with me as a mighty terrible one: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper: their everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
2 Cor.4:8-11
We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.
* 2 Cor.12:10
Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
2 Tim.3:12
Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
1 Pet.4:12-14
Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.

The title Christian was not given by Jews for the use of the term Christos was sacred. And today Jews commonly use Xian instead of Christian.We see the use of the term christian in Acts 11:26/ Acts 26:28/ Acts 15:17/ 1 Pet. 4:16 - Χριστιανός / Christianos / khris-tee-an-os' This title is considered one way to exspress our devotion to the Messiah. When we mention our devotion to him we show authority and that we embrace The Passover sacrifice and The Sabbath rest!

Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.
