Acts 2
29Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.
30Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;
31He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.
32This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
33Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.
34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
35 Until I make thy foes thy footstool.
(Ps.110:1/ 68:17-19/ Sword of truth is the Word of God that speaks through men)
The main point is David lived before Christ and while he was a man he spoke of The victory and role of Messiah. How did he know of this? Inspiration of The Holy Spirit. That is the subject. That which was spoken of by Joel and that was quoted a few verse prior!
17And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
18And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
"The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand," Acts 2:34/Ps.110:1
David was one with Elohim (Devine judgement/truth) and David was an instrument of the Holy Spirit. David said these Word's that had spiritual significance of heavenly things and was in the physical realm at the time. This isn't the only place David did this for Ps.22 describes the crusifixtion in detail and was quoted by Christ during the very events. David's remains were among the Jews Acts 2:29 and yet Messiah was to come forth of Him Acts 2:30 as he was given revaltion of Acts 2:31-35
______Matt.22:41-46_______
While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The son of David. He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool? If David then call him Lord, how is he his son? And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.
______Mark 12:36______
For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool. (Lk.20:42-43/ Heb.1:13/ Mark 14:62/ Lk.22:69/ Col.3:1)
King of kings !
The reason i am focussing on this verse is cause i see some taking it out of context to say that David's SPIRIT is still in the physical grave which is unbiblical on so many levels. (where are the dead)
David was a prophet Acts 2:30
--------------------------------
According to (Talmudic) Judaism there is to be a Messiah ben Joseph prior to (and)Messiah ben David. Yet We as Christians know how One Messiah with two advents agrees with All scripture! We know Christ was of the tribe of Judah and Levi and yet legally people knew him as the son of Joseph!
Is.61:1-2 would have been read with great passion in the synagogues Cause the speak of Messiah coming with meekness and salvation for some but also with vengance and judgement. Sadly it wasnt clear to many that this was speaking about to Advents, even when Christ made it more clear for those of the body.
Is.61:1-2
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD/-/, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
Christ reads vs1 (Is.61) during first advent.
Lk.4:18-21 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
vs.22 And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph's son?
24And he said, Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country
28And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath,
29And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong.
30But he passing through the midst of them went his way,
(Zech.12:10-12)
