Passover

Passover
KJV

* Col.2:16-17/Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. *Rom.14:5-6/One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.

We arent to judge others on the time they set aside and observances they embrace when Praiseing The LORD when they do so to Praise him.
(Mk.9:38-39/ Jn.17:20-26)

(Israel kept the 7th day set aside, (Sat.) the Sabbath-Ex. 20:8 / Ex. 34:18/ Deu.5:12 (Gen.2:2-3/ Ex.20:10-11/ Ex.16:26,30/ Ex.31:15,17/ Ex.34:21/ Ex.35:2/ Lev.23:3,8)

Yeshua and Paul were in the custom of attending fellowhip at the synagogue (church) on Saturday. (Lk.4:16, Acts 17:1-2)

We have a High Sabbath as a result of The Passover. The 15th of Nissan was a sabbath (1st day of the feast of unleaven bread as well as the 7th day of unleavened bread and Saturday wasnt a set standard so at this time you could have more than one sabbath in a week and the set aside Sabbaths of the holy Days are seen as High sabbaths. (Lev.23:5-8) The symbolism remains the same when it comes to the First Passover and the Sacrifice being fulfilled through Christ. )

Christ Is our Passover/ High Sabbath/ (sacrifice) :

* 1 Cor.5:6-8 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? 7Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: 8Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. ("It is Finished")

//Here we are told to keep the feast of unleaven bread. (Matt.23:26)

Heb.2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

__________Dates___________

Count 14 days after the spring equinox/ and or 15 days counting the spring equinox / This is the Solar Passover in which some partake of communion (The LORD's Table). (Lunar) Traditional Jewish observances are based from the new moon (Rosh Chodesh) and Erev Pesach falls on 14 Nissan (first sedar followed by Passover 15 Nissan (2nd sedar)/ followed by first omer which consist of 7 days (unleaven bread).

***Communion***(Lord's table)**- Lk.22:19-20 / Matt. 6:11-13

(Personally I embrace the Messiah as the Lamb of God and partake of the sacrifice through Communion (LORD's table)./ One is coming who will be embraced by the masses as Messiah which will pervert the focuss of this most sacrid observance. This one shall stand in the Holy Place and shall seek to take this act of partaking of the sacrifice away cause he will CLAIM to be the Christ and .(Anti meaning- Instead of -in the Greek)Some seek to reinstate blood sacrifices which were fulfiled in Yeshua). Dan.11:21-22,31 / Dan. 9:27/ Rev. 19:7-10

The symbolism remains the same with both old covenant and new covenant observances of Passover.* Ex.12:14 . Lets start with Jewish observances!

During the passover observances we have Kiddush- blessing over wine followed by Hamotzi-the blessing over bread. Matsah-( Unleavened /no yeast/ bread). Represents body of Emmanuel which had no leaven.

You take 3 pieces of matsah the middle piece is called the Afikomen. You Break it (physical death), Wrap it (burial preparation), and Hide it (Burial) / 4 cups of wine/ You hide the Afikomen during 2nd cup. You go get it and bring it back during the 3rd cup. Can you see the relation to the sacrifice of the Lamb of God (Yeshua)-Christ? Christ was crucified, wrapped, and resurrected the third day!

Matsah is bruised-striped- and pierced (look at it).
(Bruised – Is. 53:5
/ Striped- Is. 53:5 / Pierced – Zech. 12:12 ) / Matt.4:4 / Luke 4:4/ * Jn.6:51, 58

The wine (grape juice) represents the life line (blood) of the Vine (Lamb/ Messiah).

4 cups
1 Cup of Sanctification.
2 Cup of thanks
3 Cup of Redemption

4 Cup of Acceptance (Mk.14:25/ Matt.26:26-29)

Matt. 26:40-41 /

______________The Lamb___

Jewish tradition/ The high priest would journey to near by Bethlehem to get a passover lamb. (this is where the shepherds and their flocks were). He would then carry it through the Eastern Gate, it would be inspected to make sure it was without blemish. On the day of Passover between 9 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon he would slaughter the lamb as well as the lambs others brought forth and stand for 6 hours.
Jesus was born in Bethleham (Luke2) The lamb of God (Jn.1:29)
Matt. 21/ entered through the eastern gate behind the high priest who was bringing in the lamb of YHVH. The multitudes were there for the importance.
(Zec.9:9) Lk.23:7-12
Christ was inspected by Pilate & Herod, they found no fault(blemish) with him! At the time of Passover Christ was crucified between 9-3 (Matt.27:46) where he stood on the cross for 6 hours!

(Ex.12:12-13/ Matt.20:28)

GOLDEN GATE:

***Eze.44:1-3 (Neh. 3:29) / prophecy said the gate would be sealed after the LORD thy Elohim (the Lamb of God /Emmanuel) has passed through it! /YHVH being He who was, is and is to come/(The Prince- scepter of David- Judah) Luke 19:28-48 / The gate was open during the time of Christ. It was sealed later! And as scripture says no man shall enter in by it anymore.

Sealed up in the 16th century A.D.

Around 1530 A.D. Muslims took control of the City and had heard of the prophecy and hated the God of Israel, they sealed the gate thinking that they would show that the prophecy would not come to pass, but by doing so they fulfilled it instead for Christ had already passed through it and paid the price:)

(Matt.23:37,38,39) !

__________

Today in the Jewish culture there is an empty seat placed at the Passover table (seder). It is often called the "Seat of Elijah". Note: Christ sat with his disciples and observed Passover (yet refrained from completing the observance until a future time!). Elijah (The Forerunner in spirit).* Mal. 4:4-6

Lk.22:15,18 "With desire I have desired to eat the Passover with you before I suffer." (Matt.26:20,29/ Mk.14:17-25) Rev.3:20

Pagon perversions of the High Sabbath of Passover

"Easter" is a Mis-translation. The one place it appears in Acts 12:4 . the term was Pasal (Pascha/ Pesach), it can niether be tranlated or transliterated "Easter". Most dictionaries will tell you Easter is a Pagon ritual to the pagon fertility godess ishtar (The myth claims ishtar was hatched from and egg/ nature/). It consisted of brothels (orgies) in the woods to insure offspring in the coming year. Ever heard of quick as a bunny? Rabbits are known for their rate of reproduction. Whats a rabbit got to do with the Passover sacrifice or ressurection of Messiah? Nothing.
I don't go around condemning those who hide easter eggs and saying happy easter, most do so out of ignorance. Some of them observe "Easter" in acknowledgement of Christ and are just unlearned about the term and it's orgins. If any ask I simply say I don't hide easter eggs I celibrate the ressurection of Christ (observe Passover). There are a few ways to spark interest and sow a seed to those interested in discussing the subject./ ** Jer. 7:17-30 (Jer.44:3)

While some claim the term "Easter" and rituals were used to bring pagons to Christianity, that shows lack of respect for the observance of Passover. We aren't to bring pagon orgins into the body of Christ or observances of the High Sabbath..

Communion (The LORD's table)

1 Cor.11:24-25,29 Taking communion shouldnt just be something to do. It's good to be in line with its meaning when partaking. During this time one should be devoted to practicing discipline and ridding their homes and life of that which conflicts spiritual growth.

WEEK OF RESSURECTION appendix: 156

(to better understand Hebrew hours compared to Gentile hours I suggest Appendix 165)

____recipe_____________

Matzah (Unleavened Bread)
Heat oven to 375 - 400 degrees Fahrenheit (I use 400 degrees)

Two parts kosher for passover flour - NO SELF-RISING FLOUR!!! (2 cups flour)

One part spring water (1 cup water)

A variation is to use only 2/3 of the water amount and replace the missing 1/3 of water with kosher for passover cooking oil (those with oil will brown sooner).

Another variation is to add a dash of salt.

Place flour in a bowl

Gradually add the water (and oil or salt, if used) until all is mixed well -- add more water or flour if needed.

Knead dough until the dough is no longer sticky - I usually add a dash more flour while kneading.

Roll dough out on a cookie sheet thinly, no more than 1/4 an inch thick.

Use a fork or a toothed comb to puncture the matzah, making rows of perforations across the full length of rolled-out dough. Then lightly stretch dough a bit closer to sheet/pan edges to enlarge the perforations made.

Bake for 15 - 20 minutes (pizza stone times may vary) -- watch for browning -- when it's browned and crispy, it's done. (I make smaller, individual sized ones instead of ones the size of a whole cookie sheet, so mine take a little less baking time. Mine have never stuck to my cookie sheet since I use the type with a non-stick finish -- others tell me they instead use parchment paper lining their baking pan, I've never tried this).

_____________

*****Heb. 10:1,10-25/ Hebrews.10:10-11By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:, (Jer.31:33-34) This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts (circumision), and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
